Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation JDRF is a leader in setting the agenda for diabetes research worldwide, and is the largest charitable funder and advocate of type 1 research. The mission of JDRF is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research.
American Heart Association Triangle Heart Walk Support the American Heart Association’s mission to fight cardiovascular disease and stroke. Triangle Heart Walk is the the American Heart Association's mission in action. This annual celebration promotes physical activity and heart healthy living in a fun, family and pet-friendly environment.
WakeMed Foundation JustForKidsKampaign As the philanthropic partner for WakeMed Health & Hospitals, the WakeMed Foundation supports WakeMed’s mission to provide outstanding and compassionate care to all who seek our services by raising friends, funds and future leaders for the hospital system. With the substantial growth in our area and the need for enhanced pediatric services, the Foundation recently launched the Just For Kids Kampaign, a $20 million initiative to build a much needed Children’s Hospital in Wake County. Anticipated to open in early 2010, the Children’s Hospital will substantially increase pediatric services for our community. Poe Center for Health Education The Poe Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to positively impacting the lives of North Carolina youth through health education. By engaging in fun, highly interactive lessons, preschoolers through twelfth graders receive information that follows the NC DPI Healthful Living Standard Course of Study on a variety of health topics including nutrition, dental health, general health, family life and drug prevention.
Interact is a private, non-profit, United Way agency that provides safety, support, and awareness to victims and survivors of domestic violence and rape/sexual assault. Interact fulfills this mission through the support of its volunteers and community.
